Prologue││Chapter 1
________________________________________________________________________

"So this is Choi Siwon. He is our youngest boy. And this then is Ryeowook, our best chef. Next to him is Hankyung. He is Chinese, so his Korean isn't that good. And then you know of course Eunhyuk already. And I'm kinda like our leader, Leeteuk!"

Kyuhyun just nodded. Most of Leeteuk's words had been strange to him. Chef? Chinese? Korean? Leader? Kyuhyun felt stupid for not knowing those words, because somehow he got a feeling that they were just a very common words one would use everyday.

Kyuhyun knew he was smart. He knew it deep inside. He wanted to understand everything and surpass everyone with his brains. It was strong feeling - it was his first desire he had ever felt.

"So.. uh.. can you tell us a little about yourself?" the guy called Ryeowook asked shyly. He was wearing strange clothes. He had an ugly white and pink cloth on top of his white clothes. Kyuhyun found himself getting angry because he had no idea why the boy was wearing something so ugly. Kyuhyun was so angry he ended up growling: "No, I can't."

Everyone stared at him shocked. Leeteuk was opening and closing his mouth like trying to come up with a thing to say. Kyuhyun took a shaking step backwards.

"Sorry", he said. His gaze happened to travel over Eunhyuk. Surprisingly the blonde guy looked to be in pain. He was holding his head and his eyes were dark. Something in Eunhyuk's eyes made Kyuhyun's heart beat faster. He didn't even need to place his hand to his chest to feel its racing beats.

Listening his pounding heart calmed Kyuhyun down.

"I'm really sorry. I don't know what went to me", Kyuhyun said, still staring at Eunhyuk. Eunhyuk tried to avoid his eyes, and Kyuhyun had to wonder why.

"It's okay, Kyuhyun. You don't need to tell anything if you don't want to", Leeteuk said. He turned to look at Ryeowook and patted his shoulder. "We'll get to know him eventually."

Eventually. Meaning that Kyuhyun would spend his days with them for a long time. Kyuhyun decided that he would use that time to learn more about this new world he had gotten into. He really liked being in the house, mostly because of Leeteuk, and he felt excited to know new things. Or at least he thought he felt excited, because he wasn't very good with emotions. He had never been, he suddenly realized.

After a while everyone but Leeteuk and Kyuhyun left the strange room with all kinds of different stuff on the tables. Kyuhyun looked briefly around him and walked to Leeteuk who was sitting on a white table.

"What's this room?" Kyuhyun asked.

"Huh? You don't know?" dumbfounded Leeteuk asked.

"..No."

"Uhm.. This is kitchen", Leeteuk told and flashed a bright smile. Kyuhyun had no idea what this kitchen was for, but he didn't want to ask anymore, because Leeteuk's smile occupied all of his thoughts.

"I like your smile. It's very cute", Kyuhyun suddenly said.

Leeteuk's face reddened. It was fun to watch, so Kyuhyun stared at brunette's cheeks. Leeteuk tried not to look at him, kind of like Eunhyuk had done. Kyuhyun wanted to know why everyone did that, but he didn't ask it. He didn't want to seem like an idiot to Leeteuk.

"I like your smile. It's very cute."

Eunhyuk felt a bolt of pain in his head when he heard those words from Kyuhyun's mouth. For some reason, they felt familiar to him.

Eunhyuk had stayed close to the kitchen so he could listen to Leeteuk and Kyuhyun's talk. He didn't know why he had done it, but now it felt like the most stupid idea ever.

Eunhyuk hold his aching head. He had no idea what the hell was going on with these recent strange feelings and pain, but he knew it had something to do with Kyuhyun. Also the way Kyuhyun had stared at him on the kitchen had been very strange. Eunhyuk hadn't been able to return the gaze, and strangely, having Kyuhyun's eyes fixed on only him made his heart beat faster.

Eunhyuk was about to go to his own room, when Kyuhyun came out of the kitchen. Boys stared at each other for a while. It was Eunhyuk who lost the staring contest because pain had hit his brains again. Eunhyuk groaned, and bowed his head in pain. He rubbed his forehead, trying to make the hurting stop.

Kyuhyun stared at Eunhyuk, thinking of whether he should do something. He decided not to, because maybe that kind of acting was normal to the blonde. So Kyuhyun walked past Eunhyuk, wanting to go to sleep. Somehow he felt very, very tired. Too much new things, perhaps.

Eunhyuk watched at Kyuhyun's thin back. Brunette was still wearing the pajamas Leeteuk had borrowed him.

"The fuck?" Eunhyuk groaned silently. The only thing he could come up with at the moment.

Kyuhyun looked around himself. He was in a small, grey colored room that appeared to be empty. It had no windows, just one door. The room was cold, but not in a pleasant way. Kyuhyun enjoyed that even thou he loved coldness, this kind of coldness he didn't enjoy. It felt like something was waiting for him, like someone was watching him.

"I am lost", Kyuhyun found himself saying after standing at the door of that empty room for a while. "...Okay? What was that? Lost? What does it mean?"

And speaking to myself. I'm going crazy. But what does crazy mean?

Kyuhyun stepped to the strange room. It was dead silent. Kyuhyun felt shivers running down his spine. This place excited him. He walked around the room slowly. With three steps he was at the other side of it. And there, in the corner, he saw a small object on the ground. Kyuhyun walked to it, and picked it up.

It was a picture of a young looking man. Kyuhyun's book had had one picture. It had been a picture of a grey tree. This picture he was now holding was clearly old, but it had colors.

Kyuhyun looked at the man in the picture. He had stern looking face and short black hair. His eyes stared at Kyuhyun intensively. Kyuhyun shivered. He had never seen that man before, but still he hated that man - and that hate was deep.

"Get out of here", suddenly someone said behind Kyuhyun.

Kyuhyun snapped his head towards the door. He was looking at frowning Leeteuk.

"Why?" Kyuhyun asked, his voice unusually low. Leeteuk's frown disappeared when he gasped.

"This... You!?" Leeteuk muttered. Kyuhyun was surprised, not understanding what Leeteuk had meant.

"Huh?" he asked. Now his voice was back to normal. Leeteuk blinked few times, then shook his head. Then he frowned again.

"You shouldn't be here, Kyuhyun-ah", Leeteuk sighed.

Kyuhyun didn't have any energy left to ask why. Suddenly he wanted nothing but to sleep.

"S'rry.. got lost. Can ya get me back t' ma room..." Kyuhyun mumbled. With his last energy he stuffed the picture Leeteuk hadn't seen to his pajama pocket. Then he yawned loudly. Leeteuk's frown was away and he was chuckling. He took Kyuhyun's hand and started guiding the boy away from the room and back to his own room.

"Well, I can imagine you getting lost. This is a big house."

"Where's this?" Kyuhyun whispered, and yawned again.

"Huh?" Leeteuk asked, looking suspiciously at Kyuhyun.

"This.. house. Where?"

"Uh.. In Seoul", Leeteuk told, still eyeing Kyuhyun closely.

"Ok. Soooul. What's that?"

Now Leeteuk stopped just to stare at Kyuhyun, whose eyes were closing slowly.

"What?" Leeteuk breathed out. But he had no answer, because Kyuhyun passed out to his strong arms. Leeteuk sighed deeply and lifted Kyuhyun to a better position. Then he carried slowly the light boy to Kyuhyun's own room. He laid Kyuhyun to the bed and tucked him up gently.

When he left the room he wondered who actually Kyuhyun was, and what had happened to him. He seemed not to know anything of anything. Kyuhyun reminded Leeteuk of someone. And his voice back at the cellar, at his room, scared Leeteuk. It felt like his. And hadn't Leeteuk just yesterday said they had been active lately? Leeteuk needed to talk of this to Hankyung, even if he knew the man wouldn't like it.

"Hangeng-ah? Can I come in?" Leeteuk asked. He hear a quiet 'yes', and he opened the door. He stepped to the dimly lit room and closed the door behind him.

Hankyung, a guy with silky black hair, sat on a chair, bowed over his desk. Leeteuk sat to his bed. He saw a Korean text book laying on the pillow.

"You really want to learn Korean, I see", Leeteuk said. Hankyung processed his words for a while. Then he grinned and answered:
"Yes. I didn't need Korean.. until I come here."

Leeteuk smiled at the Chinese. Then he became more serious. Hankyung noticed the change, and stopped grinning.

"I know you don't want to talk about this", Leeteuk started, "but it's very, very important."

"Is it.. Heechul?" Hankyung asked silently.

Leeteuk shivered at the mention of that cursed name.

"Yes. I'm sorry. If you don't want to talk about it, it's okay."

"I.. can talk. It's okay. It is.. just..." Hankyung mumbled, trying to find the right world to describe his feelings.

"I know. It's the same for me", Leeteuk said smiling softly. His eyes looked a little bit sad.

"So.. What you want to ask?"

"What is his motive? What he wants?" Leeteuk asked straightly.

"I thought.. you knew?" Hankyung asked surprised.

"I know that he wants to start a war between our clans. But why? And why can't he start it right away? Why he waits? What he waits for?"

"More like.. who", Hankyung said. They both stayed silent for a while. Leeteuk waited for Hankyung to continue.

"I don't.. really know who. But I hear talks. From Yunho - he was good, and he wanted no war. Heechul wants someone special. With.. power", Hankyung told slowly.

"Special? With power? But he has powers too.."

"No, no. Great power. Dangerous. Heechul was almost finding that. But I no know what happened then. I.. left."

Hankyung took a shaking breath, trying to calm himself. Leeteuk offered his hand to him, and the Chinese gladly took it.

Leeteuk was deep in thought. He had gotten answers. But the answers had just created new questions. He wanted to know more, but he knew Hankyung needed a break. Leeteuk knew what had happened to Hankyung because of Heechul, and didn't want to make him talk of the man.

"Thanks. When I want to know more, can I..?"

"Of course. It's okay. Thank you, Jungsu-ssi. For giving me a place. Taking care of me. Thank you, really."

Leeteuk smiled as he left. "It's my pleasure, Hangeng-ah."

When he shut the door behind him, he went to his own private room. He laid to his bed, and started thinking. How he had linked Kyuhyun to Heechul? Who could possibly have more power than Heechul? Or himself? Leeteuk had always thought they were the most powerful ones. For a split second Leeteuk had an urge to call Kangin. But he ignored it, and tried to get some sleep. The day had passed quickly.
